               6.  Rectangle

                          What is a rectangle ?

                          Rectangle is a flat shape that has sides opposite sides that are the

                          same length, and have four right angle point.

                                                          Take a look at the picture on the side.
                                                          The rectangle beside is named square ABCD

                                                          because the vertices are A, B, C and D. While the

                                                          sides are AB, BC, CD and DA. Length of side AB
                                                          = length of side DC, length of side AD=length of

                                                          side BC.

               From the picture above we can conclude the properties of a parallelogram :

                    1.  Has 4 sides

                    2. Opposite sides are parallel and the same length

                    3. The diagonal bisects the length
                    4. All four angles are the same

                    5.  Has 2 fold symmetry

                    6.  Has 2 rotational symmetries

                                             Area of a rectangle = p x l

                                                 Around = 2 x (p + l)

                                                                                                            17
