They thought, "Well, Job has lost everything.

Even his wife is telling him to curse God and

die.” Job is sick and has these boils all over

him, and his friends are saying, "You need

to confess your sins. You need to do this or

do that." But Job’s afflictions had nothing

to do with sin in his life.

Satan says in verse 5, “But put forth thine

hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh,

and he will curse thee to thy face. And the

LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine

hand; but save his life.” In other words,

you've got your way with him, but you can't

take his life. Verse 7, “So went Satan forth

from the presence of the LORD, and smote
