example of God’s refusal to grant repentance
to a person is God’s rejection of Esau when
Esau sold his birthright to his brother Jacob
for one morsel of meat. Hebrews 12:17 tells
us that afterward when Esau would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected by
God “for he found no place of repentance,
though he sought it carefully with tears”
(See Hebrews 12:16-17).
Hardened hearts and seared consciences
are part of the perilous times that will come
upon the earth in the last days (See 1
Timothy 4:1-2). When I used to teach ladies
Bible studies, I would often warn the
women of the danger of trifling with God’s
Word and misrepresenting Christianity. I
