to the cities of Israel, and Jesus told them to be

prepared because they would receive

opposition and persecution and encounter

hostility toward their ministry, and He's

preparing them even for the possibility that

there could be contentions and hostility within

their own immediate family.

Now, watch this carefully as we read it. I'm

in verse 1, and Jesus said, “And when he had

called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave

them power against unclean spirits, to cast

them out, and to heal all manner of sickness

and all manner of disease.” In verses 6 and 7 He

said, “But go rather to the lost sheep of the

house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying,

The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” So they

have their commission. He also tells them in
