the Roman authorities to confess Caesar as

Lord to save his life, but he refused and was

martyred. He could not call Caesar Lord

because in Exodus 20, verse 3, God says,

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

There's a missionary in the Philippines

who had won, I believe, 600 converts in the

first year. He was kind of excited about that.

And then he realized what had happened.

Most of them just added Jesus to the many

other gods that they already had, and the

missionary realized they were not converted.

Do you see what I’m saying? The

Thessalonians had to change lords; they

turned from their idols to serve the living

and true God. In order for us to be saved,
