truth. And without controversy great is the

mystery of godliness . . .” Now, there are six

articles here that describe the mystery of

godliness. He's talking about Christ from His

birth to His glorification. He's talking about the

divine redemptive plan that God has for you

and me, and it's all wrapped up in Jesus Christ

— who He was and what He accomplished. And

he says here's the mystery of godliness: “God

was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles,

believed on in the world, received up into

glory.” So he goes from Christ's birth to His

glorification, and he tells us who Christ was. He

was God manifest in the flesh, and it tells us
