torment in Hell. It was explained to me

through God’s Word that eternal life was

not something that I could earn by doing

good deeds, trying to live a good life, or even

by church involvement but that forgiveness

of sins and eternal life is a gift of God's grace

(Eph. 2:8-9) through faith in His Son’s shed

blood on Calvary's cross as the only

acceptable payment for the penalty for my

sins.

I was very brokenhearted because of the

price that had to be paid so that I could be

forgiven for my sins, and I remember

feeling an abhorrence for my sins and a

desire to forsake them.
