To help me understand the opposition that I
was experiencing, God led me to Scripture
such as, "Yea, and all that will live godly in
Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2
Tim. 3:12), and Philippians 1:29 has helped
me to understand that suffering for Christ's
sake "goes with the territory" when a
person becomes a Christian: "For unto you
it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to
believe on him, but also to suffer for his
sake." Also, 1 Peter 4:12-14 says, "Beloved,
think it not strange concerning the fiery
trial which is to try you, as though some
strange thing happened unto you: But
rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of
