grace has been bestowed upon a repentant
sinner: “For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all
men, 1 2 Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should
live soberly, righteously, and godly, in
this present world.”
It’s very questionable that a person who
claims to be a Christian but continues to
love, cling to, and excuse known sin in his or
her life has been truly indwelt by the Holy
Spirit of Christ, and Romans 8:9 says, “Now
if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he
is none of his.” First Peter 1:15 commands
those who belong to Christ to live a holy life,
