anger, and of great mercy.” When we as
Christians consider how patient and merciful
God is with us as He conforms us to the
likeness of Christ, we too ought to be
gracious and full of compassion towards
other Christians who are grieved when
they sin and sincerely desire to be
conformed to the likeness of Christ in
their behavior and lifestyle. We have no
responsibility nor obligation, however, to be
compassionate and merciful toward those
who love their sins and have no desire or
intention to forsake them — and especially
after clearly understanding the gospel and
the purpose for Christ’s death on the cross.
