Focus on
How one department is making operational
and individual excellence their mission

“Our team’s focus is to help the company
execute our mission statement. We like to call
ourselves The Department of Excellence
because our quality and lean teams are focused on
operational excellence - Building Quality, Building
Value - and our training team is focused on individual
excellence - Building People,” says Lisa Vere,
Director of Quality/Training. “There is great synergy
that is created by our teams as they help each other
implement their piece of the mission statement.”
The Quality Team, working with Operations,
establishes the standards and protocols Rosendin
uses to ensure a safe and quality installation. These
standards are used in quality audits throughout
Rosendin to ensure consistency and provide a
feedback loop that our Quality Team uses to ensure
continuous improvement. Deployment of these
standards, protocols, best practices, and lessons
learned are achieved with the assistance of the
Training Team. The Quality Team works with the
Training Team to develop content for Rosendin
University, our on-line learning portal...Building
Quality!
The Lean Team is currently heavily involved in
education and development as we teach our teams

to apply lean practices and the use of lean tools.
Starting with the foundation of lean -- respect for
people -- the Lean Team works in harmony with
every aspect of the organization to reduce waste and
collaboration with the Training Team, training content
enhance our customers’ experience. Working in full
is developed and deployed to Rosendin University for
sharing best practices through the message boards
and blogs...Building Value!
Beyond the integrated training development and
deployment with the Quality and Lean Teams, the
Training Team also focuses on assisting people in
their pursuit of individual excellence. Regardless of
where they may be working, classes are available
to every employee through the instructor-led or on-
demand training in Rosendin University. There are
currently over 250 classes for both personal and
professional development with more deployed every
day.
To ensure the needs of Rosendin are met, the
Training Department has provided an easy way to
request additional content. With a simple “click of
a button,” any person or supervisor can request
additional training tools...Building People!
