Is it “feel bad” or “feel badly”?

“Bad” is an adjective and “badly” is an adverb.

When you feel bad, you’re talking about your

                                             emotions.
When you feel “badly,” you’re talking about your
ability to feel with your fingers.

“I feel bad that I upset you.”

“I feel badly because I have calluses on my fingertips.”
