Are you “lying” down or “laying” down?
“Lie” or “lying” is to recline.
You lie down or you are lying down.
“Lay” or “laying” is to place something.
You lay the book on the table or you are laying
the book on the table.
Past tense is more confusing:
You lay on the sofa last evening.
You laid the book on the table.
Incorrect: “I like laying around on the weekend.”
Correct: “I like lying around on the weekend.”
