                               The past tense of “hang” is “hung”
                                      with ONE exception.
                      “Hanged” is used to refer to death by hanging.



                                  “I hung my coat in the closet.”
                                  “They hung out in the lobby.”
                        “The criminal was hanged in the village square.”
