Do we say “orient” or “orientate”?

This word is often misused. “Orientate” is used in

British English, but not usually in American English.

However, both forms of English use the noun

                                            “orientation.”

“He needs to orient his staff to the new procedures.”

                                   “Let’s attend the orientation.”
