Up to and including the event, weather forecasts were daunting,
predicting six wet days in the week, causing some members to
cancel their bookings. In reality we had just ONE wet day, and
one VERY wet night, seeing us marooned on the Island of AREC
on the Sunday … just as our QLD and VIC guests had intended
to head for home. River levels receded later in the day with most
people able to get away OK, dodging the numerous dangerous
and damaging potholes.
A very successful rally, with members attending from all States
except South Australia and Tasmania. As is usual for any Ulysses
gatherings, lots of good times were had, laughter filled the air,
and far too many drinks were imbibed by most folk; I slurred too.
