WEDNESDAY RIDE – 8 September 2021
Sunny Sunny Skies: But NO PIES!
By Ride Leader Mike Parker
The clear blue skies brought out many an intrepid rider! The exact number I am remis as I cannot remember,
best estimate 21. Dave Moore was on his recently acquired steed, a red Honda Deauville. (No longer
satisfied with his recent Beemer acquisition , though I am informed by Dave that rationalisation of his fleet
is imminent!)
For a change we headed north to Lancelin, via Old Yanchep road, Military road, Cowalla and KW into
Lancelin. The ride up was without incident, though of note we followed a truck along the entire length of
Old Yanchep Road, and let’s just say his speed was up there!
Pulling into Lancelin I was looking forward to a pie at the cafe, located close to Sea Rescue building. Well
I’ll be damned, CLOSED! A friendly local suggest a cafe back on the main drag, a Thai and Cafe. There
coffee and some cakes were consumed, though a few of our group set up a search for pies. Not too sure of
the outcome of their endeavours.
It was good see that some of group decided to visit the local church, bit early for the Sunday service and
sadly very late for redemption
In ending a thought for the day: please be wary of stairs- they are always up to something!,,
Stay safe until the next time.
