virtual scHool: a blessing

Life is a mystery box for sure. Who could have ever imagined such a scenario where
the whole world would operate within the virtual confines? To be honest, initially,
coping with the new normal seemed to us as if we had a mountain to climb. In the
beginning, the environment of the online classes used to be quite serious. I nev-
er thought that I would be enthusiastic about attending and interacting in online
classes. However, as time flew by, we started adjusting to this virtual world. Eventu-
ally, an alteration in my perception came to light as I started to enjoy online classes.

Studying amidst the cozy and homely environment is truly the best part of online
classes. Although some might argue that studying at home could lead to distrac-
tions, I believe that one enjoys learning in comfort. The conduction of online classes
has truly reformed the educational system. Due to the technological platforms and
tools, learning has become way more interactive and concept-oriented. Instead of
gluing our eyes into our textbooks, we have started attaining conceptual knowl-
edge through slide presentations, videos, online quizzes, and other interactive vir-
tual activities. Rather than being a compulsion, learning has become enjoyable.

The presence of our friends beside us always makes the environment more lively.
However in our online classes, we are only connecting in the virtual world. As a
result, some believe that we are getting detached from our friends and family. Yet,
I feel that online classes somehow have brought us closer. Social media platforms
being the only possible medium, we have all started to communicate virtually.
From planning projects to clarifying doubts regarding assignments, chatting with
friends has become habitual. Making presentations, finding answers and writing
essays in the breakout rooms have been quite interactive and fun. Over time, I
began communicating with people who I wouldn’t interact much at school. Ad-
ditionally, hosting surprise farewells or birthday parties for friends virtually has
become more special. Normally, birthdays used to be mainly about distribut-
ing chocolates and hosting birthday parties. However, now through the virtual
platforms, birthdays are more about connecting with our friends spontaneously.

Adapting to the virtual world has truly been a turning point in our lives. Al-
though it was difficult initially to deal with this unprecedented situation,
I gradually discovered bliss within the boundaries of the virtual world.
