What I wrote above “either by gossip” applies if he (the reporter \ the וילע דיעהלו םוקל רוסאש הרותה ונל הללכ ללכד
gossip-monger) repeated those remarks directly to the “victim” and to the
person who made those remarks (in front of the victim), what that person
originally said in private about him (about the “victim”), that generally ,וילע םינדמ הז י"ע ררועתיש קר וריבחל םדא ןיב ןיבו
speaking he (the “victim”) would be emotionally hurt by those remarks
because human nature is such that people are not able to respond to and .
disclaim emotionally painful remarks and they will not have the strength
to stand up against those remarks because of that pain.

L14. If the verbal denigration was great and spoken directly to
the victim in the presence of others, to the point where the color
of the victim's face changed (14), the speaker also violates the Lav
of (Vayikrah 19:17) “and do not commit a sin because of him”
where the Torah warns us not to embarrass a fellow Jew even while
that fellow Jew is being reprimanded, even in private.
one may not speak harshly to another person to the point where he .
becomes ashamed and all the more so is it prohibited if it is not
said in the context of a reprimand or if said in the presence of other
people. Consequently, if someone does embarrass another Jew
publicly to the point where the color of his face changes because of
the embarrassment he suffered, Chazal have stated that the speaker
is cut off from Olam Haba as they have taught in Pirke Avot that םייחה רוקמ
anyone who embarrasses a fellow Jew publicly has no share in
Olam Haba. (Please see the Hagahah below).
