Under which section of the Factories Act, 1948, States/ UTs are empowered
to make a provision for third-party certification?
It may be noted that Section 8 of the Factories Act, 1948 mentions that The
State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint such
persons as possess the prescribed qualification to be Inspectors for the
purposes of this Act and may assign to them such local limits as it may think fit.
States/ UTs may make a provision for third-party certification accordingly.
Is State/ UT required to implement both self-certification and third-party
certification under all the labour laws and The Factories Act, 1948?
State may allow self-certification or/ and third-party certification under all the Labour
Laws and The Factories Act, 1948 to comply with the reform requirements.
