including surprise inspections or inspections based on complaints. It may be noted
that States/ UTs are required to ensure that the details of surprise inspections or
inspections based on complaints are recorded in the Central Inspection System.
Are the States/ UTs required to include third-party inspectors under the
Boilers Act, 1923 in the Central Inspection System?
Yes, third-party inspectors under the Boilers Act, 1923 are to be included as
part of the Central Inspection System.
Whether CIS covers only periodic inspections or also the inspections undertaken
as part of the renewal process under the Indian Boilers Act, 1923?
All inspections under the Indian Boilers Act, 1923 are required to be included as part
of the Central Inspection System (CIS).
In cases where industrial units/ establishments require inspection to be
done before the scheduled date, for the purpose of furnishing the
inspection report?
The States/ UTs may add additional module in the Central Inspection System for
requirements such as inspection based on request. However, in such cases,
random selection of the inspector may be ensured through the Central
Inspection System.
