Our boss Fred, even persuaded senior management to
allow tyres to go to this ploughman from North Luffenham,
            Rutland.

Firestone’s objective was to try and get every World Champion
Ploughing Competition qualifier to appear at the competition
            all using Firestone F151 tyres.
The vast majority did use them and it did give the unhappy
            product a vital boost.
Very soon though, radial tractor tyres began to appear on
the marketplace and the F151 was consigned to history. Just
like every other motor vehicle, the tractor became a total
convert from the original cross ply tyres to the new and vastly
superior radial ply design, and never looked back.

All these farmers had all qualified for the British National
Ploughing Championships and stood a good chance of going
            forward to the World Championships.
