MORE PROBLEMS
These wheel problems were causing huge headaches on the
farms. We were telling the users to lower the tyre pressures,
this caused the tyre bead to lose its grip on the wheel rim and
the tyre revolved when the tractor began to pull and straight
away ripped the inner tube valve straight off; result, flat tyre
and big expense. Tractor rear tyres at this time were fitted
with inner tubes; these could be filled with water to give the
tractor better weight transfer capabilities when pulling heavy
            machinery.

An International Tractor fitted with F151 tyres. My main
problems in South Lincolnshire was with International models.

Can you imagine the havoc of valves missing and the cost of
call out to replace inner tubes and the water ballast too, not
counting the time the tractor was stood idle.
It took several weeks to actually find out what had
happened to cause this problem and in the meantime farmers
all round South Lincolnshire were talking to their neighbours
about these new tyres and resistance was growing fast.
