Helen had the small front bedroom looking out onto the
road in front of the house and also looking out at the other
(Helen in the big bottom window. Her bedroom was the
one on the top left.)
Helen had the small front bedroom looking out onto the

houses in the close.
Evidently she had taken it upon herself to have a little
excursion each evening when she was supposed to be going to
sleep.
We watched avidly from Peter and Margaret’s front room
as they explained that the “show” would begin very soon and
almost immediately the curtains began to twitch.
Helen had managed to get out of her cot which was close to
the window, climbed up the side and onto the actual
windowsill. The curtains were deftly moved apart and she then
stood up full height in her all in one sleeping suit and began to
walk up and down the windowsill gazing at all before her.
After a little while she gently climbed from the windowsill
onto her wardrobe in the corner of the room. After sitting
