18.7 Self-propelled Telescopic Boom (Cherry Picker)
The Company will hire in a self-propelled boom (Cherry Picker) for working at height
when required. There are trained and authorised operators at every site and only these
people may use the machine. It is their responsibility to ensure it is used correctly as per
their training. Drivers must be aware of the machine if manoeuvring nearby and if
necessary, STOP and wait for it to move rather than drive underneath it.
The Training Manuals for each role within the Company go into
more detail on how to carry out specific tasks which require
working at height. You should also check any Risk
Assessments relating to the tasks.
