Objectives of the Practice:
● Carry out a substantial research-based projects or Concepts based projects
● Demonstrate capacity to improve student achievement, engagement and retention
● Demonstrate capacity to lead and manage change through collaboration with others
● Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical issues associated with practitioner
research
● Analyze and understand data interpretation, data analysis and synthesize research
findings
● Understand and use of various statistics and research tools, Research software’s for
development of research studies
● Report research findings in written and verbal format
● Use findings for further research.
The Actual Practice:
Majority of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have compulsory student
projects. The Student projects consist of dissertation, presentation and viva. Grades are
awarded to the student projects based on the work and presentation. These projects give the
flexibility to focus on areas of specific interest in a particular field and enhance their
employability. Students are provided provisions to carry out in-house and research funded
projects under the guidance of the faculty. Students are motivated to take up projects/
internships with reputed research organizations like IIA, IISc, NAL, FSLs, WIPRO, AMUL, BLUE
STAR, RAMDEV SNACKS and the like. Besides, students are provided with opportunities to
enhance research skills. Students are encouraged to take up research projects with various
cells of the respective schools like Aavishkar/ Vidhyanidhi / Shodha which is a novel venture
initiated to encourage budding researchers to start their research career with minor research
projects right at their undergraduate level. The cell motivates the students to form a team of 3
researchers and submit research proposals at the beginning of every year under the guidance
of a research supervisor. The proposals are carefully scrutinized by a panel that sit through the
presentations and selects worthy groups. During the previous academic year 2020-21, In spite
of the pandemic, a total of 54 research groups were scrutinized and 18 were selected. The
groups have completed their research work and the thesis writing. They are working towards
publishing their research work. In the academic year 2019-20, A total of 29 UG and PG minor
research projects proposed by various departments were screened by the panel members and
the below mentioned 11 projects were approved by the panel.
It is also a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students to present their research
papers in the national and international conferences organised by the prestigious Universities
and institutions like IIM-A, IIM-B etc.
