Title of the Practice: Service Learning

          Objective of the Practice:

          • To gain a deeper understanding of the course/curricular content, a broader appreciation

of the discipline and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.
          • Allows students to synthesize course material in more meaningful ways.

          • Popularize Science and technology among masses and create an awareness regarding its

impact on socio-economic and sustainable development of the country.

              Actual Practice:

Students visit nearby government schools and demonstrate simple science experiments

to higher secondary students. They teach simple concepts in Physics, Mathematics and
Chemistry by explaining the concepts and showing working models. Thus the students

share the acquired knowledge, experience and skills with the high school children and
thus help in redefining the education system and also help in motivating students to take

              up basic sciences.

          Outcome:

Students build relationships, solve problems, value a sense of community and gain self-
awareness. Service-learning is beyond memorable so it can influence one’s career path and

enhance civic responsibility. This extends learning beyond the academic term and ays the

foundation for continual personal growth throughout the student’s academic experience
              and beyond.
