Keep a Buyer
Contact Log
It is critical to keep track of your last conversation with the buyer.
Put all communication in the log, even e-mails and voice mails.
Set aside an entire page per buyer or use a word processing or
spreadsheet program on your computer so you have plenty of
space. Keep meticulous notes, because you may begin to forget
details as you begin to speak with lots of buyers.
Start some blank pages set up like the following:

BUYER James Sims
TITLE Accessories Buyer
PHONE 555-555-1212
E-MAIL jsims@bighuge.com
June 20: Sent press kit
June 27: James said he had not yet received, re-call Fri June 30.
June 30: James likes product, bringing to his meeting July 15. Re-call July 1 6.
July 16: Associates like it, they want pricing proposal for the new forks
at 2,500, 5,000, and 1 0,000 units.
July 17: Sent proposal, follow up July 20.
July 20: They will purchase 10,000. Purchase order will be faxed in a week.
