                                          “TPA NOW”



        It has been my honor to serve the Texas Police Association as president for past year. We celebrated
        our 124th year in existence and in June our 120th conference will be in Longview Texas. The training
        will be phenomenal with national and international speakers and presenters:



                            James Capra, retired after nearly three decades with the Drug Enforcement
                            Administration (D.E.A). James served as the Chief of Global Operations for D.E.A
                            in which he was responsible for 227 domestic offices and 86 foreign offices in
                            67 countries. Prior to his DEA career, James served in the US Navy, US Navy
                            Reserves, Air National Guard and as Military Intelligence Officer. He holds a
                            Bachelor of Science from Marist College and a Master of Education from Seton
                            Hall University. James is an International speaker and has conducted world-class
        leadership training. He has been called on to speak on national security issues involving
        international drug trafficking organizations, drug/terror groups, pharmaceutical diversion, and drug
        legalization. James Capra he founder of Frontline Leadership and authored multiple books.


                            Richard Morris began as a Fort Worth Police Officer in 1978 and has served in
                            many capacities. He retired from Fort Worth in 2014 as the Gang Intelligence
                            Sergeant. Richard is a 10th degree Black Belt Grandmaster in American Karate,
                            Tae-Kwon-do and the founder of Shizen-Na Karate. He is trained in several
                            martial arts systems and was inducted into:  The International Karate and
                            Kickboxers Hall of Fame, the Karate Masters Hall of Fame, the Masters Hall of
                            Fame, the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, World Black Belt’s Living Legends,
        and in the Museum of Sports Karate Hall of Fame. Richard Morris Seminars promotes Leadership,
        Confidence, Courage for Law Enforcement, Military and Everyday Civilians. Richard’s new book,
        On Fighting: the Police Science  of Arrest and Control is soon to be release. Richard is also
        collaborating in the co-writing of a new book for military and law enforcement agencies with,
        retired Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman, the Pulitzer nominated author of On Killing. Richard Morris was
        featured on ABC Nightline, CNN, Good Morning America, World News Tonight, NBC Nightly
        News, and many other forms of media.
