In addition to the employee benefits described in this handbook, employees of the Chicago Zoological Society
receive an employee photo identification badge that provides other advantages, including merchandise discounts

CZS University and CZS Leadership Academy

The Society has a comprehensive on-site, university-style
free training program for its employees called CZS Univer-
sity. A wide variety of classes are offered through CZS Uni-
versity to employees, including professional development,
skill-building classes, conservation-related topics, and spe-
cial topics. Leadership training and development are offered
to staff in supervisory roles through the CZS Leadership
Academy. Some classes are required and others are elective.
CZS Staff is encouraged to take advantage of this training
to learn new skills and knowledge to help them qualify for
advancement. Class formats include instructor-led classes,
e-learning classes, and blended learning. Instructors include
guest lecturers, staff presenters, and professional trainers.

Discounts Employees are eligible for a wide variety of
