ON 16 JANUARY 2025, ATA BECOMES AN ORIGINAL SLOUGHI: A MIRACLE?

We can't believe our eyes! At the beginning of 2025, Ata, who was created in the Breed
Archive by Ulrich Rosenzweig in 2017, will have pure Tunisian ancestry on both his mother's
        and father's side!

The mother and father had previously been unknown in the Breed Archive. The sire had been
labelled Ben-Bahram Fares-Megouar by Gervais Cazin, the dam as a daughter or
granddaughter of Magistère Vajra. Signed by three other breeders.

What should we believe, who can we trust? What's inside Ata and other "Sloughis"?

Raouf Ochi, who owns and bred most of the Sloughis in Ata's pedigree in the Breed Archive,
        says:

"Nabli got Abla 1 and her son Antar from me and also bought other Sloughis from Bou-Salem,
including a Bringé (brindle, Ghazel) bred by me, then he mated them with two Magistère dogs,
then he imported two black coats from Siham Sahara. So if Ata was born before the introduction

of Magistère’s blood and Siham Sahara, he is a pure Tunisian Sloughi, but if he was born after,
he is certainly a mixed breed."

And further Raouf Ochi adds: "As for the pedigree provided by this Montassar Zoghlami, there
are mistakes in the lines of my Sloughis, and don't ask me what they are."

So whether Ata's offspring would be confirmed in a genetic test as North African Sloughis, or
that they come from lines whose origins largely do not come from North Africa is the
question. We do not follow the splitting hair of those who label Sloughis of dubious (western)
origin as North African simply because they were born in North Africa, although their
parents, are descended from dubious (western) lines.

It must therefore be recognised that fraud is also taking root in North Africa. A lot of trust is
being squandered as a result. And finally, we also need proof that the ancestors of the North
African Sloughis were not imported with the camel nomads of the Banu Hilal.
