We now sit and enjoy eating our meal. It is a good custom and proper to eat meat and drink
wine during the meal to fulfill the commandment of Simchat Yom Tov. One who has distaste for
meat and wine may eat anything which brings him joy.
There are some who have the custom to eat a hard-boiled egg and recite the following:
In remembrance of the Hagigah offering. .ֵּז ֶכר ְל ָׁק ְר ַבן ֲח ִּׁגי ָׁגה
