9 - Maror ‫מרור‬

    1. One should make sure to check the maror for bugs prior to Pesah. Because of the high
probability of finding insects in the lettuce, it is recommended to purchase pre-checked lettuce.

    2. One takes one k ezayit o f maror and dips it entirely in the haroset.
    3. One should not leave the maror sitting in the haroset but should remove it quickly so it’s bitter

taste doesn’t dissipate. For this reason too, the Haroset is shaken off the maror.
    4. The blessing of “Al Achilat Maror” is recited and it is eaten without reclining.
    5. One must ensure to chew the maror to taste the bitterness.

10 - Korech ‫כורך‬

    1. A k ezayit of matza is taken from the 3rd matza that was dropped after “HaMotzi” (see #7-1) and a
kezayit of maror is also taken. This sandwich is dipped into the haroset.

    2. The paragraph of M atza U’Maror Belo Beracha Zecher LaMikdash is recited.
    3. The sandwich is eaten while leaning to the left.
    4. If one forgot to lean it is recommended to eat the sandwich again unless it’s difficult for him to

         do.
              a. To clarify: Since there is an opinion that one doesn’t lean for Korech since there is maror,
one doesn’t have to eat the sandwich again.

    5. Women who forgot to lean for Korech do not have to eat it again.

11 - Shulhan Orech ‫שלחן עורך‬

    1. It is a good custom and proper to eat meat and drink wine during the meal to fulfill the
commandment of S imhat Yom Tov. One who has a distaste for meat and wine may eat anything
         which brings him joy.

    2. Generally speaking, the custom of most Sepharadim and Ashkenazim is NOT to eat roasted
meat on Pesah. The definition of roasted meat is meat/chicken that was cooked directly by the
fire (like a grill) or meat that was placed in a pot on it's own and then let to cook in it's own juices.
              a. To clarify: The moment one adds other juices/liquids to the pot of meat such as water or
wine, it becomes "cooked" and may be consumed.

    3. One should not eat to the point of satiety since he must leave room for the Afikoman.
    4. Some have the custom to eat a hard-boiled egg and recite: Zecher LeKorban Hagiga.

12 - Tzafun ‫צפון‬

    1. After the meal, one eats a k ezayit of matza that was placed underneath the tablecloth during
         Yahatz in Step #4.

    2. This matza is eaten plain, without salt and while leaning to the left.
    3. One who forgets to lean for the Afikoman does not have to eat the Afikoman again.
