Getting it right also means spending dollars for the necessary expertise. The HOA Board and the
                                                                                                                    3
Country Club Board have voted to split the costs. And, you have asked me about that. Please know:
We have selected consultants with a proven track record in bringing communities like ours to suc-
cessful outcomes. And, as the devil can be in the myriad details of our charter documents, we will
also need first-rate legal assistance. These costs, while significant, are paltry in comparison to the
investment likely to be necessary to successfully address our community’s needs. And, are negligi-
ble compared to the costs of not getting it right, of failing, including the impacts on our shared (by

my back-of-the-envelope estimation) 4 to 5 billion dollars in property values.

Given that it is off-season, there is a necessary pause right now. Frustrating, I know. But, start of
the season, further listening, another survey, critical review of preliminary proposals, and such will
proceed rapidly. The intention is to have a final proposal available for our community to act upon
      early in 2021.

Additional information is available in the update from the Long Range Planning Committee that is a

part of this newsletter. And, as you have questions for the LRPC, please do direct them to the LRPC
FAQ page; that page is updated as new questions come in so that all can access the answers.
I hope you feel, as I certainly do, genuine excitement as we anticipate those coming months. And,
what they can potentially mean for the sustained well-being of our precious Desert Horizons com-
      munity.

Please stay safe. And, please stay engaged.

      My best,
      Bruce
