May 21, 2020 General Session Meeting – Continued
6
The Board repeated the discussion of reviewing and approving the Country Club’s request to get
approval for increasing the Transfer Fee and the Social Fee per the HOA’s governing documents.
This repeat of the Board’s decision was requested by a homeowner who objected to the posted
General Session Agenda that did not adequately describe the item on the agenda.
The Board reviewed the policy and approved the previous decision to grant the increase per the
governing HOA documents. The Transfer Fee would increase to $8,316 and the Social Fees would
increase to $260 per month beginning July 1, 2020.
President Shepard announced that two members of the Board had resigned. Dan Gardner and
Claudia Cauthorn resigned from the Board and as chairs of the Landscape and Maintenance Com-
mittees and the Pool Committee. Both Board members were thanked for their service and their
hard work.
President Shepard recommended two former Board members to step in and fill out the unex-
pired terms of both Cauthorn and Gardner which would have ended in March 2021.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, Lee Clancey was appointed to fill in for Dan Gardner as
Vice President and Dick Frankel was re-appointed Treasurer for the end of the term. Former
Treasurer Pete Bohn graciously stepped down as Treasurer and will become active as Chair of the
Landscape Committee and a member of the Maintenance Committee.
Pete Bohn finished his last task as Treasurer by recommending that the association transfer their
Savings account from UBS to Pacific Western Bank where we have our operating account. That
Bank has a program for HOA’s that easily invests into new CD’s when the operating account ex-
ceeds $250,000.
This ensures our FDIC insurance and offers interest. The program is called CDAR’S. The Board
agreed and a motion was made and seconded to transfer funds as the current UBS Certificates of
Deposit mature.
