     Long Range Planning Committee: Eyes on the Future


     Earlier this year the Desert Horizons Long Range Planning Committee was created to develop a vi-
     sion that positions our community for a changing competitive landscape. The LRPC's first order of
     business was to collect as much data and feedback as possible to inform the critical path and plan-
     ning process. With the help of McMahon Group, a highly respected consulting firm, a series of focus
     group sessions were held with the community and club boards, and a comprehensive survey of all
     community stakeholders was conducted. As a result of the unusually high response rate, this initial
     focus group and survey process affirmed the following priorities for the next phase of planning:


     - Community Amenities (Clubhouse, Fitness, Dining, Racquet Sports, Pools)
     - Infrastructure & Aesthetics (Highway 111 entry, roads, signage)
     - Deferred Maintenance (Lakes)

     As one respondent put it, Desert Horizons' location is on the "50 yard line" of the Coachella Valley,
     so the overall objective is to match our community experience with our location, and ultimately en-

     hance the value of our collective real estate investments.

     The LRPC is now beginning the next phase of planning, which is to develop a strategic plan, includ-
     ing schematic designs and cost estimates. Throughout this next phase the LRPC will continue to
     seek feedback from the community, and also involve additional community stakeholders with rele-
     vant experience in specific priority areas. The end goal of this next phase is to present the commu-
     nity with a comprehensive, detailed plan to be voted on in Spring of 2021.


     The LRPC appreciates the support, feedback and questions that have been provided thus far, and
     has posted a 'Frequently Asked Questions' document on the HOA website that is updated from time
     to time with new questions and responses.
