Notes from the Manager: 2
We are sending a reminder of two important considerations that we want to make sure we bring to
your attention if you plan to participate.
EARTHQUAKE - Loss Assessment Coverage - MOTUS Insurance Services
The Board of Directors recently decided to offer this policy for owners who want to participate again
th
this year. On November 12 at 1 pm we will be offering a live chat with the executives of MOTUS
who will explain the policy and be able to answer questions from only Desert Horizons owners.
Owners who had the policy before will be getting renewals. New owners and owners who may
want to opt into the policy this year, will be able to listen and to get their questions answered about
this policy that offers protection against Special Assessments for earthquake damage if we have a
loss in the common area. The CA Earthquake Authority recommends this policy in addition to their
state sponsored insurance as the two policies offer different coverages.
The deadline to sign up for the policy is November 30, 2020. The effective date of the new policy
is 12/1/20-12/1/21.
THE HOLIDAY FUND -
The Board will be sending out our Annual Holiday Fund Letter, soon. Every year the Board sends
out envelopes to owners who wish to show their appreciation to the staff that serves them all year
long.
The people that participate in sharing your gracious donation are the office staff, pool and mainte-
nance staff and all the security guards. Watch for the holiday envelopes that will be coming in the
mail. The Board appreciates your consideration.

Community Updates
Vintage Landscape will be doing their first fertilization on the turf the 1st and 2nd
week of November.
Planting of the new plant material will continue throughout the community.
The outside perimeter on HWY-111 turf will start growing. We are currently in the
process of seeding the outside and starting Monday the watering process. By mid-
November everything should be green.
