am a dentist, but my practice needed
time in the evenings, which I did not
I want to spend away from my kids. One
of my friends had recently started working
at an international school and jokingly I
asked her if they would employ me. She
asked me to try. I shared my resume and
called them the next day and got the job! I
was apprehensive, but teaching is what I
have always loved, even in dental college,
so I started teaching science. I really liked this school where everything
is taught hands-on. I’ll be completing two years by July end, and things
were going well, but then this new challenge came up. Online classes. I
do feel that physical classrooms are much better than online. In physical
school, you have your topic ready, you go in, teach, and done. But now,
it’s 3 times the work. Think of the topic, make a PowerPoint or video,
find a nice explanatory video and then, present online. Once, a child sit-
ting on a chair was playing with it. I could see that she was about to fall
and I wanted to hold her so badly! Suddenly she fell and started crying.
I felt really sad that day - virtual reality is not real. Also, fathers roaming
in vests and shorts oh man! I am praying for COVID to go away and
I can once again, be with children - without parents roaming around,
maids doing pocha in the background and no one judging the teacher.
