           PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
           TEACH-A-RAMA:  Number of Sorors:  10 Xinos:  Kudos:  Others: 25 Description of the Activity:
           Parent and students from Main Street Elem were invited to a workshop about Bulling in school. Soror
           reviewed the different types of bullying as described by the Mayo Clinic. Children discussed what they
           considered as bullying and examples were given on how the children should try to get help from a bully.
           There were 3 student prerecorded presentations by some of the student at the school. The children and
           Parents were giving warning signs that a friend or child may be being bullied. Parents and children gave
           suggestions on what can be done at this school to help stop people from bulling one another.


           LEADERSHIP TRAINING: Number of Sorors: 13
           Description of the Activity:  Description of the Activity: Professional development encompasses a
           myriad of facilitated learning opportunities .It can be formal or informal, should enhance self-awareness,
           and improve individual skills. A sound knowledge of the Sorority’s MOPP is essential in order to move
           the Chapter beyond greatness and is necessary to propel our youth towards seeking and achieving
           greatness. Xi Chapter’s Basileus, Mary L. Payne often coins them as “teachable moments”. The Basileus
           facilitated three interactive professional development opportunities namely an Officers’ Workshop,
           Youth & Hub Parent Advisors’ Workshop, Protocol Workshop, and facilitated a portion of the Chapter’s
           Annual Retreat. Evaluation evinced that they were informative, thought provoking, well received and
           enjoyed by the Sorors


           PUBLIC RELATIONS:  In November the chapter Adopts-A-Family  from a list compiled by the local
           Social Service agency for give gifts and money to for the Christmas holiday. The family consisted of I
           parent ((father) and 5 children. Three Sorors were available to deliver the toys and gift card to the family
           2 weeks before the holiday. Soror Verma Mitchell was elected as the NAACP President in Media, PA.
           Soror Tammy Taliaferro was elected to the City Council in Sharon Hill, PA. Soror Lavada Green was
           appointed as Principal for Stetser Elementary School in Chester, PA.


           COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS, EDUCATION, AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS: Number
           or Sorors: 13  Descriptions of Activites: As an initiative for social change, Xi Chapter’ Basileus Mary
           L. Payne instituted an in-house membership drive with the goal of getting all Sorors, Youth and Parents
           registered as NAACP members with at least 90% cooperation at each level by the end of the sororal
           year. The drive was facilitated by Soror McClairen, COCR Chair. Xi Chapter subscribed  for Silver Life
           Membership. This is an on going initiative.


           INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS (SISTERHOOD)
           Sisterhood Activities: Number of Sorors: 18  Description of the Activity: Chapter retreat in August just
           before the sororal year actually begins. Dinner and Karaoke in October. Attend local high school
           basketball game(Chester High), in November PDK Jewelry Making, in December Holiday Painting w/a
           Twist XI Style in December, Movie night in December.
