2.0 OUR COMMITTMENT
POLICY PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT, BULLYING AND
RETALIATION
nou Systems believes in maintaining a work environment in which our employees can
thrive and be their best and be treated with dignity and respect. nou Systems provides
equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment
with- out regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, sex (including pregnancy,
childbirth, or related medical conditions), gender identity, gender expression,
sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, physical disability, mental disability,
legally protected medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any
other characteristic protected by appli- cable state, federal or local laws (each a
“Protected Characteristic”). Equal employment opportunity applies to all terms and
conditions of employment, including hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff,
recall, transfer, leave of absence, compensation, and training.
Nou Systems expressly prohibits any employee or non-employee from engaging in
unlawful employee harassment or discrimination based on any Protected
Characteristic. Improper interference with the ability of other employees to perform their
expected job duties is not tolerated.
Discrimination
Both nou Systems and the law prohibit unlawful employment discrimination. Unlawful
discrimination occurs in employment when an employer makes employment decisions,
including hiring, promotion, raises, termination, and other terms and conditions of
employment, based on the Protected Characteristic of an applicant or employee.
Harassment
Both nou Systems and the law also prohibit unlawful workplace harassment. Unlawful
harassment is unwelcome conduct, based on a Protected Characteristic, that is
sufficiently severe and pervasive to alter the terms and conditions of employment or
create an intimidating, offensive, or abusive working environment. Prohibited harassment
can take many forms and may include, but is not limited to, the following: slurs, jokes,
statements, gestures, staring, assault, impeding or blocking another’s movement or
otherwise physically interfering with normal work, pictures, drawings, or cartoons,
based upon an employee’s sex, race, color, national origin, religion, age, physical
disability, mental disability, medical condition, ancestry, marital status, sexual
orientation, veteran status, or any other basis protected by federal or state laws.
