leave, with one important difference. If an employee leaves the Company, accrued PTO will NOT
be paid out.
9.3 Maximum Leave Balance
The maximum balance of annual leave that can be carried from one calendar year to the next is
300 hours. PTO is capped at 96 hours.
9.4 Leave Requests
To request Annual Leave, an employee can enter the desired time off in nou Systems’ Deltek
Time and Expense. The Supervisor receives an email notification regarding the requested time
off. Leave requests are considered approved unless the employee gets an email from the
Supervisor disapproving the request. Annual leave requests should be made at least five business
days in advance, except for emergency situations.
9.5 Flextime and Compensatory Overtime
All full-time, salaried employees are eligible for overtime compensation as provided in this policy.
This policy does not address non-exempt employees.
It is not the normal policy of nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) to require its employees to work overtime in
the performance of services under its Governmental contracts. However, for significant tests or
other events, overtime hours may be required to complete the testing and analysis required by
the Government in an expedited manner. Under such circumstances, nSI will compensate
employees for overtime with two different methods for accommodating overtime: Flextime and
Compensatory (Comp) Time.
For more information contact the Human Resource Manager.
9.6 Holiday Pay
Full-time employees are entitled to nine (9) paid holidays annually. Full-time employees who are
regularly scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week will receive a prorated amount of holiday
hours based on their normal work schedule.
Should a holiday fall on a Saturday or Sunday, eligible employees will receive either the preceding
Friday or the following Monday off, respectively. In the event a holiday falls within the annual
leave period of an employee, the workday involved will be charged as a holiday.
In the event a regular exempt employee is required to work during a holiday, they should record
the holiday hours and the hours worked. Additionally, those hours may be flexed within that
month.
The 9 nou Systems Holidays are listed below:
• New Year’s Day
• MLK, Jr. Day
• President’s Day
