THE RUSTON FOOD TRUCK SCENE
Some of the best food in Ruston can be found on four wheels. It’s almost hard to believe that all that culinary magic happens in a 16ft x
7ft food truck. If you’re a food truck enthusiast, then the Heard Freighthouse Food Park is a must-visit destination. Located in the heart
of Downtown Ruston, this park features several local food trucks all in one convenient location, in addition to breezy and covered out-
door dining areas. The Heard is perfect for groups and families who want to try something different. For a juicy hamburger, Grown and
Grazed is the place, or grab a savory sandwich at Staple Sandwich Co. Bad Wolf BBQ is also on site serving up their new age, craft
BBQ. The newest additions to the food park include Grace Wins, serving up classic southern dishes, and Taqueria La Mexicana, THE
place to get your authentic street tacos. Outside of downtown, you’ll find other food trucks sprinkled throughout Ruston. KaCee-Dillas
for creative quesadillas, and dole whips. All of these fan-favorite food truck establishments deliver a delicious mix of flavors that won’t
disappoint. heardfreighthousefoodpark.com
MICROBREWERY MEETS BRICK OVEN PIZZA
Nothing quite goes together like pizza and beer. Locally-loved Utility Brewing Company got its start in 2017 when brewmasters Cassidy
Keim and Karl Puljak decided to turn their hobby of brewing craft beer into something the whole community could enjoy. In an effort
to make it a family-friendly establishment, they brought in local restauranteur Dean Norton, who helped with the dining side of things.
Cassidy and Karl used their architectural expertise to revitalize a historic building in Downtown Ruston, creating a unique and warm at-
mosphere perfect for date nights, dinners with family, or happy hour with friends. Not only does Utility brew all their craft beer in-house,
but they use local ingredients in their brews and menu items. Not to mention they make all their dough, sauces, and mozzarella cheese
in-house (yes, they make their own cheese). The artisan approach to their menu makes Utility’s brick-oven pizzas and home-brewed
beers a true culinary experience that can’t be missed.
