Kudos to Carrousel Staci G. Oliver for
planning and organizing our second
impromptu gathering at the Missouri
History Museum. Overlooking the
beauty of nature in historic Forest Park,
the sight and cultural legacy of the
1904 World’s Fair, St. Louis Carrousels
and Carrafellas gathered to enjoy a
Sunday Jazz Brunch. Hosted by African
American business owner, Tim Eleby
of Pure Catering St. Louis,
Brunch at the Missouri the buffet offered a wide variety of
History Museum decadent entrees, desserts, and
bottomless Mimosas in three
flavors. The angelic voice
of soloist Kecia Davis and her band entertained us with classic hits from the 60s to the 80s.
Like the closing selection “That’s What Friends Are For,” this experience provided the perfect
opportunity to celebrate the bond of friendship within our chapter.
Carrousel Shirley Garrett and CaraCouples Esther & Earl Beeks, Christina & Vince Bennett, Victoria & Stan
Buck, Cheryl & John Jones, Sandra & Nate Murdock, Staci & James Oliver, Leslie & Kirk Washington, Karen &
Garey Watkins, and Cookie Whitfield & Chuck Gooden unanimously agreed that this was an awesome event.
