"Tiika, its bird food, it’s not
dog food," Dogmother
sighed. "I've seen the other
dogs eating the wheat that is
scattered for the ducks,"
Tiika said - "and I haven't
seen you tell them off for
that!" "I would if I saw them
eating it," said the
Dogmother. "Why don't you
go and find Oreo and Ewok
and have a game with them?"
By the end of the first day,
Elsie had lost two balls in the
creek and completely
destroyed a third. "We are
going to have to go and buy
more balls," the Dogmother
lamented.
Tucker was getting increasingly taciturn because both Elsie and Bertie could
run faster than him and kept intercepting his balls when they were thrown and
taking off with them - even though the Dogmother had a ball each for
them. Elsie would lose hers in the creek and then go after Tucker's.
