"Having Bertie and Elsie here reminds me that we haven’t seen Lily-Rose and
Phoebe-Fleur in a long time," the Dogmother remarked to the
Dogfather. "They used to come a couple of times per year and stay for quite
some time." "Who are they?" asked Pippa.
"Ooh, you’d like them" said Rosie. "They’re two little white poodles - smaller
than Bert’n’Els - who actually belong to Bertie and Elsie’s Dad’s Mum. When
they’re at home in Burnside, they are perfectly coiffed and refined, elegant
poodles. Phoebe even does ballet and pirouettes beautifully when she wants a
pat or a cuddle.
But when they come to the farm, they
find their inner bogans and become
Lil’n’Pheebs, farm ferals. Especially
Lily, she loves dashing about and
hunting out rats in the lean to where
the little tractor is kept.
Do you remember that time she came
out and she was black and covered in
spider webs?
I thought Ma was going to have a
pink fit! Ma thought that Lily’s Mum,
Margie would be horrified but she
likes the idea that they can come and
have a jolly good holiday and be dirty
dogs!
