6. LAOSAT DFHS-4S SPACECRAFT TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT
Loasat-1 Observation Comment /Assessment Cri
The customer is the Ministry of Posts and Classical
telecommunications. The spacecraft is a DFH
4S, type with a Ku and C band payload.
Launch date Nov. 2015, OML 15 years. Bus
100Volts
The spacecraft is a typical medium size type, Classical.with the exception of the Li Ion battery
with Li ion batteries, the payload is not too
complex. Mass: 4000 kg, dry mass 1590 kg
Overview Power: 7800 W. .
Module arrangement (service module and Classical, central cylinder, U shape with N
payload) South, earth panel and antenna feed on the top
floor.
Most of the hardware is under the But some key equipment are subcontracted
responsibility of CAST, some items are outside China (IRES,Wheel,TWT,/TWTA
subcontracted. MIMU etc… What is the visibility they have on
them?
Rockwell Collins RW, RWE Most of the subcontractors are located in
Galileo IRES Europe, except COMDEV where it is not stated
Thales Alenia Space ETCA PCU if it is COMDEV Europe or COMDEV Canada
Major COMDEV RF Switch, Isolator, Load, or COMDEV China or other, which nay have
Subcontractors Circulator some special rules for export control.
Thales Alenia Space Ku & C band Receive The strategy to flow down requirements and
MPM, TWT... monitors the subcontractors is not defined.
Who is manufacturing the WG?
8 54 MHz channels powered by 10 for 8 Classical Architecture. But not too much
Radiative TWT (143 W)? detailed are given on the equipments and on the
Ku Band One (1) Rx/Tx deployable single offset antenna evolution of these equipment since they have
payload for c-band (West Panel) been qualified
With the information provided, the EIRP
and G/T and coverage performances seems
to be compliant with the requirements
14 36 MHz channels powered by 18 for 14 Classical Architecture. Question mark on the
TWT (75 W). Two TWTA used for OMNI past history (Ground and in Orbit qualification)
during launch for the 75 W TWT
C Band
payload One (1) Rx/Tx deployable Gregorian antenna No comment at this stage
for Ku-band (East Panel)
With the information provided, the EIRP and No comment at this stage
G/T nad coverage performances seems to be
compliant with the requirements.
Mass budget, no comment
Propellant budget, no comment
Power budget, no comment. Non thermal prediction given. Lack of FDIR
SPF list should be updated to assess the risk
System TCR Link budget, no comment Coherence between all the various budgets as
budgets given for each satellite shall be reviewed and
Antenna pointing accuracy, no comment
explained when different
Reliability, 0.7688 end of life, seems optimistic
with the TWT redundancy proposed.
SPF list (page 44), seems incomplete, many
other SPF can be added.
