9.1 CHINASAT 18 DFH 4E TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT SUMMARY

Based on the above, one can conclude:

 The Chinasat 18, DFH 4E design is not mature because:
o The contract is under negotiation
o The customer requirements are not frozen
o The schedule is not established
 There is some doubts on the power increase up to 15 KW, (making use of the said qualified ETCA PCU) and
the implication on various subsystems (EPS, Solar array, power handling and dissipation on N & S panels,
thermal subsystem, payload, including antenna and its mechanism).
 As for other spacecrafts the categorization and the base for qualification could be challenged.

As of today, with the information provided and the status of the program (performances requirements not yet defined), is
it almost impossible to provide you any assessment of the performances / and in-orbit risk items.
