Yeah right, so you won’t interrupt me
and turn me irate.
JZ: Let’s try to figure out who won the ballgame!
Michael: Uhmmm, it’s better not to do so. Who cares anyway? After all, my team lost anyway.
JZ: I bet that the ballgame must be over by now.
Michael: Could you stop talking about the ballgame?
JZ: What do you mean by that? Do you Mind if I ask?
Michael: I’m sorry about that, but hearing about the ballgame is interrupting me.
JZ: Ok, if you won’t consider that as a ballgame, I will respect your opinion
Michael: Well, I could deal with it if you were just sensitive enough.
JZ: I just want to know who won the ballgame. Besides, they are two of the most promising
teams.
Michael: I’m sorry about that, I was expecting my team to be in the finals.
JZ: Dude, they never won. That’s why we need to stop thinking about those two teams and move
on.
Michael: Yeah right, so you won’t interrupt me and turn me irate.
JZ: Don’t worry, I won’t ever do it again.
Michael: I’m sorry but it is just getting on my nerves.
JZ: Pal, if you could just open up your Mind, things will be a lot better.
Michael: And what do you want me to do then? Pretend that nothing happened and I’m not af-
fecTed of the result of the ballgame?
JZ: I never said that, I just wanted to know the final result of the ballgame, dude.
Michael: Alright, go on, make more interruptions and irate me. I can’t concentrate on what I’m
doing now.
JZ: I’m sorry. I think I’ll just keep my mouth shut. Never mind, just concentrate on what you’re
doing.
1. How would you feel if someone keeps on interrupting you?
Sample answer:
I would feel bad. I will inform him courteously that I’m not comfortable with what his
doing. I’ll let him know that it’s a sign of disrespect, so if he’ll continue on doing so, it’s
like showing disrespect to me. I can never tolerate such. If I have the opportunity, I will
courteously inform him on his behavior.
