               Export Performance

Yoon: Currently, we are importing and exporting to South America and Europe as well. Last year,
we brought about a turnover of US $30 million including US $ 15 million in export perfor-
mance. We are very proud of this dramatic increase.
Adams: You mean a 30 % increase in succession! That’s really awesome. I’m really impressed.
Yoon: I thought you might be, so I brought along some samples and catalogs with me. I hope you’ll
find the time to take a look at these items. They are the best in the market today. You can try out
how efficient and durable they are.
Adams: Good thinking. That’s really good of you. May I look at them, Mr. Yoon? I think I’ll be
bringing these to our next board meeting. That way, even our supervisors will be able to look
                  at these samples.

Yoon: Yes, please do. I would really like to have your comments. Your feedback would be appreci-
ated. You see, we continue to enhance our products. We have a team that oversees the continu-
ous development of our items. We take note of the feedback, good and bad.
Adams: So what is it exactly about this new Super Notebook Computer, SCN-3452, that you think
will be so appealing to our clients? Please tell me more. I think we need to have another meeting
just to discuss this sole point.

               1. What are the factors that you consider in buying a laptop?

                  Sample answer:
I assess the size, weight, memory, and other features of the laptop. Then, I check if the price is
consistent with the specifications of the computer. I also take into account the company that
produced the laptop. I only buy from respected and credible companies.

               2. Why do you think are laptops such a hit in the export business nowadays?

                  Sample answer:
Laptops are in demand nowadays because most people are on the go. This is the greatest ad-
vantage of a laptop over a desktop. A desktop may be as capable as laptop, but you can’t take
it anywhere you go like a laptop.

               3. The benefits of investing in a laptop business are obvious. However, what
could be the possible drawbacks of such an investment?
