Chapter 6 Hobbies and Interest

                   Unit 1: Watching TV

Try to discuss about your television habits. Tell whether it is a healthy one or not.

              Answer A:

Since I was a child, I have always watched comedy shows. It is one of my comforts, aside from
eating chocolates and playing soccer. You see, after a hard day in school, I indulge myself in
some good time in front of the boob tube. You get loads of comedy shows on a weekend night.
There is a variety show on weekend nights that show parlor games, making the audience from
the studio and from homes laugh their hearts out. They also show gags and funny antics. They
turn everyday moments into something wacky and funny. I always watch them with my family.
Laughing with my family makes me ease my mind and rejuvenate my body for the week to come.
I also love to watch sports games. Watching sports games on TV can never be more enjoyable
with friends. We all hold on to our seats as the game progresses and cheer loudly as our team
scores a point. With today’s technology, you can always get what you want online. Still, there is
this one thing that I think no online media can offer - the personal bond you make and tighten
with the people you are watching TV with.

              Points to emphasize in answering:

Give the genre of the TV show.
[example: I have always watched comedy shows.]

Tell some details about your watching.
-When do you usually watch it?
                   -Who watches it with you?

Provide an example of that kind of show. You may give a title.
[example: There is a variety show on weekend nights that show parlor games.]

Tell more about that specific show. Try to describe what it contains.
[example: They also show gags and funny antics.]

Tell the benefits you get from watching the show.
[example: The personal bond you make and tighten with the people you are
                           with when watching TV.]
